Day 1 Tuesday 13th July 2021
Home pick ups as arranged today before we head northwest and pause for morning tea. After joining the Cunningham Hwy we make our way to Rudd’s Pub at Nobby. This historic little gem was built in 1893. Named after ‘Steele Rudd’ who wrote the ‘Dad & Dave’ stories by the old fireplace in the Heritage Room. Lunch today will be a good old fashioned Pub Style meal by the fire and maybe hear a few yarns or two by a local poet. Time now to make our way to our accommodation in Toowoomba where we can settle in before dinner in the restaurant.

Day 2 Wednesday 14th July 2021
This morning after a little sleep in and breakfast, we pick up a Guide who will take us on a tour of the QLD famous Garden City. Perched on the edge of the Great Dividing Range, 700 meters above sea-level we explore Toowoomba from the comfort of the Coach. We then make our way to one of Toowoomba’s most Historic buildings, Clifford House. Build in 1860, it was originally a residential Men’s Club, then the home of James Taylor and his family. Today we celebrate with a truly scrumptious ‘Christmas in July Luncheon’ in the Restaurant, which was originally the homes old Billiard Room. Sit back and relax with some drinks in these beautiful surroundings away from the crisp mountain air. We slowly make our way back to our Motel with a little time to relax before Dinner.

After our breakfast this morning we travel along the Warrego Highway to Oakey, where we visit the Oakey Air Museum. The Museum started in the Army Aviation Base in the 1980’s, before moving to the Oakey Airfield in 2005. The display now has 22 Aircraft, also memorabilia from WW1 through to conflicts in Afghanistan. We then travel back to Toowoomba for a special lunch at the heritage listed Toowoomba Railway Station. The Café was set up over 120 years ago and has now undergone stunning renovations. Here we enjoy a delicious High Tea in the charming Dining Room. Drinks can also be purchased from the licensed Bar.
