Friday 19th June 2020 Tour No. 1229
Looking for somewhere to get that true ‘Aussie’ experience! After our northbound pickups we travel to Coomera and pay a visit to the local CWA Ladies. We are treated to a special morning tea prepared by members of the Country Women’s Association, at there local hall. We then make our way through some of QLD’s most scenic country. On arrival at Albert River Wines historic colonial farm, we have time to stroll the original 1800’s homesteads. The beautiful Tamborine House, the fully restored Auchenflower House and Taabinga Chapel– the original Kingaroy Lutheran Church. Then onto the Museum, with an amazing array of items from the era. We get to meet the resident animals, donkeys, goats, pigs and not forgetting the kelpies. We may even see some whip cracking and boomerang throwing. (please don’t let Terry do that!). Lunch today will be in the lovely Auchenflower House with its sweeping verandahs and spectacular views over the vineyards and Mt Tambourine. We have a lovely Main with Dessert, followed by T/Coffee. After a great day we travel home via Nerang with a comfort stop, before our drop offs on the Coast.
