Day 1 Sun 13th June 2021
Are you ready for the holiday of a lifetime? We depart from Brisbane Airport today, so we may have some early pickups. On arrival at Ayres Rock Airport mid afternoon, Terry will be waiting to transfer us to our accommodation. We have the remainder of the afternoon to settle into our stunning resort for the next 3 nights. Soaring white sails crown Voyages ’Sails in the Desert’ Resort in this beautifully appointed Hotel. With gumtree lined swimming pool and several dinning, Bar & Lounge areas. Dinner at our hotel tonight.

Day 2 Mon 14th June 2021
Remember to keep your camera handy! This morning after a hearty breakfast you may like to explore the surroundings, browse the Mulgara Gallery or take the short 5 minute walk to the Resort Town Square Shopping Centre. Lunch is own expense today so maybe a casual lunch & cocktail by the pool! Sounds good to me. This afternoon we get ready for an amazing experience. Sit back and relax as we travel into the amazing Uluru–Kata Tjuta National Park. We follow the ring road around the base of Uluru with time to stop at allocated vantage spots. We also visit the Uluru Cultural Centre where we learn more about Uluru and its traditional owners through the many visual displays. Then on our return, dinner will be at our hotel.
Day 3 Tue 15th June 2021
This morning after breakfast we have some free time to explore. There is also an option to do a Scenic Flight over Uluru, this can be organized through the Resort reception and details will be available soon. This afternoon we are once again picked up from the Resort for a fun evening. We are transported to a viewing area in the National Park to watch the Sunset over the Rock. Canapes and drinks are included. Arguably this is Australia’s most recognisable and fascinating icon, Uluru (Ayers Rock) stands 348 metres high, you’ll be overwhelmed by its incredible size and presence and the ever changing colours at sunset. We have a very special Dinner experience planed with a BBQ under the stars as the sun sets over Uluru. With a wonderful array of foods, dessert and T/C we will even include drinks.
Day 4 Wed 16th June 2021
We depart Sails Resort today and travel along the Lasseter Hwy to Curtin Springs for a morning tea stop. We continue further east via Mt Ebenezer before heading to lunch at the Erldunda Roadhouse, uniquely located in ‘The Centre of The Centre’ – also referred to as the Centre of Australia. We continue north along The Stuart Highway via Stuarts Well and onto Alice Springs, situated halfway between Adelaide and Darwin, 1500km in each direction. Dinner tonight at our hotel.

Day 5 Thu 17th June 2021
Today we start with a guided tour of town and a visit to the West MacDonnell National Park.
See spectacular rock outcrops, ridges, and huge stately ghost gums. We then travel to Standley Chasm, this chasm is barely nine metres wide and has been gouged into tough sandstone by floods, over millions of years. Next we visit Alice Springs Desert Park. This award winning attraction captures the living essence of Australia’s deserts. Enjoy the many interpretive exhibits that will enrich your knowledge and appreciation of the desert. The remainder of the afternoon is yours to relax at our hotel before Dinner.
Day 6 Fri 18th June 2021
This morning we continue our journey northward, with a m/tea stop then onto Barrow Creek where we stop for lunch. This afternoon we visit the Devils Marbles, round shaped granite boulders with some over 6 metres in diameter. The aboriginal name is Karlu Karlu which translates as ‘round boulders’. Not far now before we arrive at the thriving centre of the Barkly Tablelands, Tennant Creek. Dinner at our motel.

Day 7 Sat 19th June 2021
An early departure today as we continue our discoveries along the “Explores Highway”. Our first stop is at Renner Springs for morning tea then lunch at a tiny hamlet built around the Northern Territories oldest pub at Daly Waters. As we venture further north we pause at Mataranka, a community of about 400 and the setting of Jeannie Gunn’s “We of the Never Never”. We continue on to Katherine, this town has some of NT’s best agricultural and grazing country and home of the Tindal RAAF airbase. Dinner tonight is at our hotel.

Day 8 Sun 20th June 2021
This tour would not be complete without a visit to the Nitmiluk National Park (Katherine Gorge). See the breathtaking first Gorge, which is a great introduction to this inspiring location! Lunch is at the Information Centre before travelling to Cutta Cutta Caves for a guided tour. Dinner at our motel.
Day 9 Mon 21st June 2021
Time to head for “the big smoke”. Stopping at Adelaide River for morning tea, this was the location for 30,000 Australian and American soldiers during WWII. Now to head into the breathtaking Litchfield National Park, be amazed at the termite mounds before lunch at the Wangi Falls kiosk. See beautiful clear waterholes and spectacular waterfalls. Time for a swim here too. Then we make our way to Darwin.

Day 10 Tue 22nd June 2021
It’s time to discover this vibrant city with our friendly guide. See this city’s relaxed and tropical atmosphere. Sights this morning include the tropical 34 hectare Botanical Gardens and some of the surviving historical buildings, churches and memorials from Cyclone Tracy plus the busy harbour area. We continue to the Museum and Art Gallery of N.T., with items of aboriginal history through to recent history and modern development, including a realistic exhibition of Cyclone Tracy. Lunch is in the Museum’s Cafe. We make our way to the Aust. Aviation Heritage Centre, see a B52 Bomber, one of only two displayed outside of the USA. This museum features interesting stories about the history of aviation, Darwin’s wartime experience and view the 18 civil and military aircraft on display. Some say that Darwin offers the best sunsets in Australia, well this evening you can judge for yourselves as we enjoy a spectacular sunset DINNER cruise with Darwin Harbour Cruises, which offers the opportunity to view the beauty of the city’s shores with the dramatic backdrop of a gorgeous sunset, all while enjoying a delicious dinner.
Day 11 Wed 23rd June 2021
This morning we see an amazing sight at Aquascene, this is where we view hundreds of fish coming in from the sea to be hand fed! We then head to the Royal Flying Doctor Service’s new Tourist Facility. See the latest holographic technology, as we hear the story of John Flynn’s vision and its realisation into the RFDS of today. We then view cutting edge technology of the Japanese air attack on Darwin Harbour. Now it’s onto a visit to Parliament House or “the wedding cake” as it’s known by the locals. We enjoy a guided tour and lunch here. Lastly we call into East Point Reserve, see their beaches, rainforest and wallabies. It’s also home to Darwin’s Military Museum, see an excellent collection of artillery and war planes. Dinner
is at our hotel.
Day 12 Thu 24th June 2021
Our first stop this morning is the award winning Territory Wildlife Park. This park is of international standard where we see excellent displays of native fauna. Hop aboard the free
train to see the exhibits and walk through their tunnel for underwater viewing of large freshwater fish. This afternoon head to the famous Original Jumping Croc Cruise. On arrival Lunch today is in their café. No tour to this part of Australia is complete without seeing this amazing display. So sit back and enjoy the fantastic commentary as we cruise the spectacular Adelaide River, BUT be ready with your cameras as you will see crocodiles at VERY close range! Next door is Window on the Wetlands, here we learn about local history and ecological processes of the Top End wetlands from interactive displays. Then freshen up at our hotel for dinner.
Day 13 Fri 25th June 2021
On our last full day in Darwin, we do have one last venue to visit, Crocodylus Park, Darwin’s premier tourist attraction. We see Saltwater and Freshwater crocodiles of all ages and sizes, American alligators, and other animals including big cats, monkeys, birds, turtles, and snakes. This park is totally owned and operated by Wildlife Management International (WMI), and continue to research crocodiles and other species of wildlife.
The rest of the day is free! Why not relax in our luxurious hotel, enjoy some shopping or just take it easy (lunch is own expense today). Today you also have the option of a Flight over Kakadu. We will be organizing this closer to the date and will be at your own expense. Tonight is our last dinner in tropical Darwin as we meet over a few drinks and enjoy another dinner at our Motel. What a way to end the day!
Day 14 Sat 26th June 2021
This morning there is time for a sleep in before we farewell the Top End! Terry will transfer us to Darwin Airport. Our Qantas flight is a direct flight right through to Brisbane and of course Terry’s Tours will arrange transfers from the airport to your home after this Northern Territory trip of a lifetime!
