Jingle Bells, Jingle Bells, Jingle all the way!!
All aboard ‘Santa Terry’s’ sleigh as we venture south for our Christmas getaway! After home pick ups we travel south along the Pacific Motorway, before pausing for a morning tea break. We continue south bi-passing Grafton and Coffs Harbour and Macksville then onto Frederickton near Kempsey. Lunch today is at The Garden Bar & Kitchen, situated on the banks of the Macleay River. This venue was recently renovated and was once the a famous Old Cheese Factory. We then make our way to our overnight destination.

Day 2 Friday 24th Dec 2021
Today we continue south with a comfort stop at Wyong before skirting around the big smoke Sydney. We then follow the South West Motorway to Mittagong, gateway to the Southern Highlands where we pause for lunch. Then reboard the coach and head to Australia’s capital city, Canberra, our home for the next three nights is the luxury of Pavilion on Northbourne. Our hotel has a unique tropical garden atriums situated in the center courtyard. MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!
Are you ready for a real treat today! Now be sure to watch out for that cheeky Santa looking for all the good ’boys and girls’ this morning. He tends to sneak around early! Breakfast will be a lovely hot buffet, as we spend a relaxing morning soaking up the atmosphere of the festive season, with time to dress up for our Christmas Day Luncheon. Our Christmas Feast consists of Seafood, Roasts, an assortment of veggies, cold Meats, salads and a mouth watering array of Sweets. Santa will include, Beer, Wine and Soft drinks as well! What a jolly good fellow he is! So sit back and relax knowing you don’t have to clean up afterwards. A light Dinner will end a perfect day.
Day 4 Sunday 26th Dec 2021
This morning we enjoy a visit to Mount Ainslie, with it’s superb views from the Lookout. Then a tour of our national capital, passing the old and the new Parliament House and Canberra’s War Memorial. A wonderful treat now as we enjoy a lunch cruise on Lake Burley Griffin on the ‘MV Southern Cross’ while listening to the excellent commentary as we see Canberra from a different perspective. We indulge in a superb Luncheon relaxing with great friends. We return to our hotel for dinner, our last night in Canberra.Day 5 Monday 27th Dec 2021
This morning we make our way north, passing through Yass and travel onto Cowra, situated on the banks of the Lachlan River. This historic little town is famous for its tranquil gardens and fine wines but also for the largest Prisoner of War break out in modern history. In 1944, more than a thousand Japanese POW’s staged a mass breakout with a loss of over 200 lives. Cowra has since forged a friendship with Japan, with the opening of the Cowra Japanese Gardens and Cultural Centre. Over 5 hectares of beautifully manicured gardens with reflection pools and many fountains cover this symbolic area. We have time to wander the gardens and we have lunch in the Garden Café. After lunch we make our way through Canowindra and Wellington and onto our home for the night, Dubbo. Dinner tonight will be at the Railway Bowls Club.

Today we make our way through, Coonabarabran and Gunnedah with morning tea on route, making our way onto Tamworth for lunch at the Tamworth RSL. We then join the New England Hwy travelling through Guyra and onto Glen Innes (Celtic country) where we pause for a comfort stop, before reaching our home for the night at Tenterfield. This pretty town is surrounded by the hills of the Great Dividing Range and was the venue of Sir Henry Parkes, Federation speech in 1889. And not forgetting the Tenterfield Saddler made famous by another Tenterfield local, Mr Peter Allen. Dinner tonight is at our Motel. Day 7 Wednesday 29th Dec 2021
Well it’s the final day of our Christmas getaway! This morning we make our way to Warwick, the historic centre of QLD’s Southern Downs, for a morning tea stop. We then travel through the beautiful Fassifern district to reach Beaudesert for lunch at the local and very friendly Beaudesert RSL Club. We then head back to the Gold Coast after a Very Merry Christmas with Terry.Terry’s Tours, wishes everyone a Very Happy Christmas but most of all, a very, happy and healthy New Year!
