Day 01 Tuesday, 12th October 2021 Depart Gold Coast to Christchurch
Arrive Christchurch International Airport. Welcome to New Zealand! You will be met on arrival at the Christchurch International Airport, by private coach and transferred to your accommodation.

Day 02 Wednesday, 13th October 2021 Christchurch—Nelson (BD)
Travel up the east coast through the North Canterbury farmlands and the recently developed wine country of Waipara to the town of Kaikoura where the mountains meet the sea. Continuing north we visit a well known New Zealand winery for tastings of their fine product. Next stop is at Pelorous Bridge for a walk through the Beech and Podocarp Forest as well as viewing the many sculptured boulders in the Pelorous River, then onto Nelson. Dinner is at our hotel restaurant.

Day 03 Thursday, 14th October 2021 Nelson—Abel Tasman National Park—Nelson (BLD)
Today we travel to Kaiteriteri, gateway to the Abel Tasman National Park. On arrival receive your picnic lunch and depart on a Sea Shuttle catamaran for a cruise. We view the famous Split Apple Rock, a fur seal colony, and the beaches and crystal clear waters of Abel Tasman National Park. This afternoon we retrace our way back to Kaiteriteri.
Day 04 Friday, 15th October 2021 Nelson—Christchurch (BD)
Today we travel south through the Maruia Forest and over the Lewis Pass to Hanmer Springs, famed for its hot thermal water pools. Time to enjoy lunch and maybe a swim at the Hanmer Springs Thermal Pools & Spa (at own cost). From here you cross the northern Canterbury Plains to Christchurch. Enjoy the sights of the ‘Garden City’ also known as “the most English city outside of England”. We learn about the effects of the February 2011 earthquakes and how the city is rebuilding. Visit the Bridge of Remembrance and the ‘Cardboard Cathedral’. Dinner is included tonight at our hotel.

Day 05 Saturdat, 16th October 2021 Christchurch (BD)
Full day is at leisure – you may wish to stroll through the Botanic Gardens and along the banks of the meandering Avon River, visit the shops and stalls of the Arts Centre, ride the historic tram around the city circuit or visit the Canterbury Museum and the new Christchurch Art Gallery (all at own expense) . Dinner is included tonight at our hotel.
Day 06 Sunday, 17th October 2021 Christchurch—Franz Josef (BD)
We board the Tranz Alpine train for a scenic rail journey across the fertile Canterbury Plains and into the heart of the mighty Southern Alps. Travel across towering viaducts, spectacular gorges & valleys and into Arthurs Pass National Park. Back on the coach we descend into the rainforests of Westland and travel south along the West Coast to Hokitika. Continue south to the village of Franz Josef. Day 07 Monday, 18th October 2021 Franz Josef—Queenstown (BD)
We travel towards the southern end of the South Island’s West Coast Road, before arriving in Haast. From the Westland National Park travel through the Haast River valleys and over the Haast Pass to Makaroa and onto the upper reaches of Lake Wanaka. Travelling past Lake Hawea, reach the popular Lake Wanaka, via Cromwell following the Kawarau Gorge Road into Queenstown, New Zealand’s premier year-round alpine resort town. Dinner tonight is at our hotel.

Day 08 Tueday, 19th October 2021 Queenstown (BLD)
This morning take a cruise across Lake Wakatipu on the Steamer, TSS Earnslaw to Walter Peak Station to dine at the Colonel’s Homestead for Lunch and return back into Queenstown early afternoon for some time at your leisure.
Dinner tonight is at our hotel.
Day 09 Wednesday 20th October 2021 Queenstown—Doubtful Sound (BD)
Today depart Queenstown for a very special overnight wilderness experience in the Fiordland National Park. Travel around the eastern shores of Lake Wakatipu and across the farmlands of Southland to the settlement of Manapouri. Cruise across Lake Manapouri to West Arm and then by coach, across the Wilmot Pass for your first glimpse of Doubtful Sound. We board the Fiordland Navigator, with spacious deck areas offering stunning views of waterfalls, abundant wildlife, rainforest and mountains. We have private cabins with en-suite bathrooms. We explore Doubtful Sound with an on-board nature guide. Also explore the shoreline by tender craft with the guide. Dinner is served as the boat anchors in a sheltered cove for the overnight stay – hear

Day 10 Thursday 21st October 2021 Doubtful Sound—Queenstown (BD)

Day 11 Friday 22nd October 2021 Queenstown (BLD)
Today visit the historic Arrowtown, a pretty village which now rests under shady trees but was once a rip-roaring gold rush town. Your tour includes a wine cave tour at Gibbston Valley Winery with wine-tasting. Lunch is included today at Gibbston Valley. We drive out to the Kawarau Bridge to see the dare-devils bungy jumping from the original AJ Hackett site. This evening ride the aerial gondola to Bob’s Peak and enjoy a delicious six-course buffet dinner while admiring the panoramic views of Queenstown, Lake Wakatipu and the surrounding mountain ranges.
Day 12 Saturday 23rd October 2021 Queenstown—Twizel (BD)
Depart Queenstown and travel north through the Central Otago farmland which is renowned for its stone fruit industry. Travel over the Lindis Pass into the MacKenzie Country. Named after a legendary sheep stealer. The area is an important source of New Zealand’s hydro electric power with huge canals & lakes been built to link to the power stations. Your overnight accommodation is in Twizel. Dinner is included tonight at our hotel.

Day 13 Sunday 24th October 2021 Mt Cook (BD)
This morning after breakfast and drive along the shores of Lake Pukaki into Mt Cook National Park. At the heart of New Zealand’s most spectacular alpine region is Mt Cook, at 3754 metres the highest peak in Australasia. Time at leisure in Mt Cook Village. Visit the Sir Edmund Hillary Alpine Centre or the planetarium, take a scenic flight by helicopter over the area with a snow landing (weather permitting) (activities available at extra cost). Dinner at our hotel.
Day 14 Monday 25th October 2021 Twizel—Christchurch (BD)
Departing Twizel, travel through Tekapo and stop at the quaint Church of the Good Shepherd with its stunning views from the altar window across the lake to the mountains. We make our way through the rural towns of Fairlie and Geraldine, crossing the Canterbury Plains to Christchurch. This evening enjoy a farewell dinner in a local restaurant in the Botanical Gardens.

Day 15 Tuesday 26th October 2021 Christchurch—Gold Coast (B)
Normal hotel check out time applies – hotel can store luggage until departure transfer. Time this afternoon visit the International Antarctic Centre to learn about life at the South Pole and the New Zealand and United States Antarctic programmes. Experience the full blast of an Antarctic storm in a –5 degrees Celsius environment and see the unique New Zealand Penguin Encounter. Transfer to Christchurch Airport for our flight back home.
